Gelli Printing on Textured Paper

These Gelli Plate prints are done on textured paper that I made using black Tulip Slick fabric paint. Added some black and white doodling and a bit of washi tape to stick them on black background paper. I got the idea for this project from, once again, the Gelli Arts blog. Their blog is so FULL of excellent tutorials on different techniques for the Gelli Plates, it is hard to decide which one to try next!! Thanks for checking out my blog :)

My Happy Chair

Hello!! It is one of my hearts desires to fill my house with happy, brightly painted furniture. Here is an ugly kitchen chair makeover that I did recently. ("before" photo posted below) Many many hours were spent on this and there is still another one to do. No sanding or stripping required though! First I put on a couple of coats of Deco Art Americana Decor Chalky Paint in white All the colored paint is Americana acrylic craft paint and the colored dots and flowers are hand punched from paper. I would love to see any ugly chair or other furniture makeovers that you have done. Post a picture in the comments if you want to share :) Loving my Happy chair!!

Spiral Doodly Do and woodless watercolor pencils

This original spiral doodle drawing was colored using Masters Touch woodless watercolor pencils from Hobby Lobby. For an inexpensive store brand, I was rather impressed with the brightness of the colors and the blend-ability of these pencils. The Masters Touch pearlescent pan watercolors, which I did not use in this project, also seem to be quite awesome for the price.

Gelli Print Collage!!

Gelli print collage!! I made this collage using cut up gelli prints, paint pens, and a few puffy stickers. This project was inspired by the gelli print collage video by Joan on the Gelli Arts blog. ...I am SO IN LOVE with the gelli plates  FUN FUN FUN!!! I glued the papers onto an 8 x 10 canvas panel, which I won't do again because it bowed, or it was bowed when I started, I don't know, but the next collage is going on something that won't do that. Enjoy!!

Sweet Buddy

Hello again...About a month ago I bought a book by Joanne Sharpe called Zenspirations,  and now I cannot stop doodling!!! Her work is so awesome and I have really improved my doodling skills by watching her. This doodle drawing is dedicated to my sweet Buddy...I love you more than words can say...

All doodling done with Sakura Pigma Sensei pens. I colored this with different water based markers and watercolor pencils from different sets. The Buddy stencil was custom made by me. Thanks for stopping by!!!
